Tourist Destinations and Attractions in Shanghai, China


The Bund


The Bund is a relaxing place, located near the Huangpu River, which divides Shanghai. The Bund is one of the famous tourist destinations in Shanghai that offers beautiful panoramic. Bund name is taken from the Hindi word which means the levee, reservoir or dock. Naming Bund often found in various countries, such as India, China and Japan (Yokohama Bund). However, the name has been taken to Shanghai by Victor Sassoon and family.

For transportation, there is a location near the train station in Nanjing East Road, and the main bus stop in East-1 Zhongshan Road.



Shanghai Ocean Aquarium


It is an aquarium which is placed under the ground. There are 4 floors under the ground, with a lift we'll come down and look at all kinds of animals waters, from crocodiles, geese, and various types of fish.

There is also something unique, like watching fish began to spawn, until adulthood, but all life, not a demo, and also other types of animal water.



Jade Buddha Temple


Buddhist temple in Shanghai was created as a place of worship for the Buddhist Mahayana. Jade Temple was built in 1882.

Inside there are two jade Buddha statues imported from Burma and sitting Buddha statue with 3 tons weight and 1.95 meters height, and also other Buddha statue donated by Singapore.



Yuyuan Garden


Yuyuan or Yu Garden is one of the best theme parks in China, located in Anren Street 132, Old Town, or next Chenghuangmiao. Some Suzhou-style designs are clearly visible at this garden. This garden has 2 hectares area, starting from Grand Rockery area, heralding Spring Hall (Dianchun), Inner Garden, Jade Magnificence Hall (Yuhua), Lotus Pool until the Ten Thousand-Flower Tower (Wanhua).

Yuyuan Garden can be accessed from the Shanghai Metro station located near the park.



Shanghai Oriental Pearl Tower


This tower is Shanghai landmark. Shanghai Oriental Pearl Tower is located at the edge of Lujiazui in the Pudong district, on the banks of Huangpu River, opposite The Bund. It was designed by Jiang Huan Cheng from Shanghai Modern Architectural Design Co. Ltd. Construction built in 1990 and was completed in 1994.

With 468 m height (1,535 feet), "Oriental Pearl TV Tower" is the tallest structure in China from 1994 to 2007, when it was defeated by the Shanghai World Financial Center. On 7 July 2007. The tower visited by more than three million tourists every year.



Shanghai Xin Tian Di


If you want to shop and enjoy a variety of entertainment in Shanghai, you can come to shopping and entertainment area in Xin Tian Di. Xin Tian Di is one of China's most important entertainment district built by Shui On Land  which consists from ancient China building named shikumen.



Nanjing Road


Nanjing Road or Nanjing Lu is the main shopping district in Shanghai, which is also one of the busiest streets in the world. The area is divided in two streets, East Nanjing Road and West Nanjing Road.

The tourists usually celebrate major holidays, such as Chinese New Year, New Year's Eve, Christmas and Easter at Nanjing Road.
